Martino Vincenzo Ottimofiore is a strategic HR leader with a business mindset and a broad international background. He worked on project assignments in South Africa, Argentina and Pakistan, before joining the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group in 2008 as a Global HR Business Partner for Damco, the Group’s newly created logistics and freight forwarding division.

After 4 years in Copenhagen, he transferred to Singapore as Regional Compensation & Benefits Manager for Maersk’s Asia Pacific Region, a ‘center of expertise’ role strongly focused on change management and capability building initiatives, where he spearheaded the roll out of a comprehensive rewards strategy. He returned to HR Business Partnering in 2014 by joining APM Terminals (Maersk’s port operations division) in Dubai, looking after Africa and the Middle East and allowing him to roll out a talent management and succession planning framework across a vast and complex region. After two years, he was promoted to Portfolio HR Manager with particular focus on joint venture terminals and the rolling out of a governance framework over a hitherto disjointed and fragmented organization. In 2018, he moved to Ghana in West Africa, heading up the African Regional HR function for Inland Services, Maersk’s trucking, warehousing and depot operations division. He took part in deploying a new leadership development program across Africa and acting as one of its key executive coaches, and also co-facilitated the successful organisational integration of Inland Services into the mainline Maersk organization.

Martino is a Maersk-internally certified leadership coach and an externally certified MindGym coach ‘with distinction’. His passion is to help unlock people’s and organization’s potential in dynamic and fast-paced environments, particularly emerging markets such as Sub-Saharan Africa.
