Linda Fine, HR Director, DIMENSION DATA
Linda Fine is the HR Executive at Dimension Data for Middle East and Africa (MEA) and has been in the role since 2005. During 2002-2005 she was instrumental in helping the company establish best people practices globally across the group, before taking on the operational responsibilities for the MEA region. With an honours degree and background in Marketing, Linda brings great business acumen to the HR function and a client centric approach to running a people business.
Linda’s day to day responsibilities include HR strategy and the direction of all HR activities across the MEA territory, encompassing over 6000 employees.
Linda’s current priorities include the development of the next generation of leaders, attracting the right talent, employee engagement with a focus on culture and values, developing good people manager capability, performance management, graduate development programmes and emerging talent programmes, as well as growing the capability of the HR team in region.
Linda enjoys writing and recently contributed to recent HR publication called ‘The role of the Chief Human Resources Officer – Edited by Dave van Eeden (Knowledge Resources 2014)’. The chapter is called: Two sides of the same coin: Aligning Marketing Principles to the Application of Strategic Human Resources.
Linda holds an honours degree from the University of Cape Town, with majors in Marketing and Economics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from UNISA School of Business Leadership. She is also accredited as an Associate Coach with the University of Cape Town ACC (Accredited Coaching Course) qualification.
Linda started her career in the retail industry in merchandise planning and buying and also worked in the United Kingdom for 2 years in the financial services industry. In her early career she also spent time lecturing at the University of Cape Town, as well as for Intec college for students pursing an International Marketing diploma. She continues to write course material and enjoys facilitating workshops and training in her current role.
Linda lives in Johannesburg with her husband and 2 daughters.
