Jyothi Khoosal, Principal Advisor, Benefits EMEA – Rio Tinto Group

Jyothi is currently Principal Advisor, Benefits – EMEA within the Rio Tinto Group. Rio Tinto has 47,000 people working in around 35 countries across six continents.

Jyothi works with local business management and HR to design/ review pensions and benefits provisions in ten countries to ensure benefit plans remain fully compliant within each country’s legal and regulatory framework, and where possible, harmonised amongst different business units whilst aligning to Group’s global benefit strategy.

Jyothi has oversight of vendor management for expatriate healthcare and global employee assistance programme as well as being responsible for pension compliance for the Group’s globally mobile employees. She supports global projects and various company initiatives as required.

Jyothi has over 15 years experience in the employee benefit industry. She has spent much of that time consulting to boards of trustees of defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans in South Africa.

Jyothi holds a B Sc (WITS), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (UFS), Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning (UFS).
